Horace F. Jones, Ed.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Horace F. Jones founded Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. in 1986, out of a desire to establish his own professional services firm to provide government and commercial clients the best mix of existing technology, while creating employment opportunities for individuals within the local community.
Dr. Jones has successfully led ARTI to garnish several awards and accolades, including Black Enterprise Magazine’s Top 100 African American-Owned Companies in the U.S., Inc. Magazine’s List of America’s 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies, the Fast Track Enterprise Award (DoD Mentor-Protégé Program), and Technology Fast 500 Company.
As Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Jones is the highest ranking officer in the company. Dr. Jones provides corporate vision, leadership and strategic direction to the leadership team for all aspects of the company's business. As the CEO and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Jones oversees the leadership team's daily operation of the company and is ultimately responsible for all components of its business. His guidance and continued involvement in day-to-day operations forms the foundation upon which the company's excellent reputation for delivering quality, cost-effective, and responsive information solutions rests.
Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southern University in Louisiana in 1963. Afterwards, he served as an Artillery Staff Officer and Commander of soldiers in the U.S. Army while stationed in Vietnam. Dr. Jones returned to Southern University in 1973, where he received a Master's degree in Counselor Education. He later earned a Doctoral degree in Education from the University of Denver in 1979.
In 1983, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he retired from the Army to pursue a career in private industry where he held a wide variety of executive level positions for several high-tech corporations in the Washington, DC metro area.
Mr. Charles Anderson, Jr., President of Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc., joined ARTI in 1997 after eight years at SEMA, Inc. serving in several roles: Director of the Technology Applications Division, Director of Administration, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As the second-ranking member of the ARTI leadeship team reporting directly to the Chairman and CEO, Mr. Anderson oversees the daily operations of the company to ensure the CEO's corporate vision, strategic direction and objectives are implemented. Mr. Anderson works closely with and under the guidance of the CEO to manage the work of the company's other executive leaders and to successfully execute the company's business strategies and plans.
Mr. Anderson is a 1961 honors graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Education with a minor in Mathematics. He holds a Master's of Education degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, in Washington, D.C.
He served more than 25 years as an officer in the U.S. Army, assuming a wide range of leadership and management positions to include two tours in Vietnam. His last active duty assignment was in the Pentagon where he served as Chief of the Operations and Plans Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Logistics. Following this assignment, Mr. Anderson retired from the military in 1989 as a Colonel and assumed an executive management position with SEMA, Inc. in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Brian J. Bartholomew is the Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. He joined ARTI in 2001 and has served in numerous technical and executive management positions during his years at ARTI, including Project and Program Manager, Capture/Proposal Manager, Business Analyst, and Chief Technology Officer. As part of the leadership team, Mr. Bartholomew manages growth initiatives for the company and is responsible for leading strategy, portfolio growth, business planning, and customer relationships.
Mr. Bartholomew is a graduate of University of Phoenix, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Technology, with a minor in Business. He holds a Master's of Business Administration from Tulane University. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and a certified Project Management Professional.
Prior to joining ARTI, Mr. Bartholomew worked at Jacobs Engineering Group for 13 years serving in various management positions, including Northern Region IT Director and Director of Global Network Services. During his tenure at Jacobs, he was responsible for the provisioning, management and support of all data-communications: WAN/LAN, Remote Access, Network management, monitoring, hardware and circuits for over 150 offices, 300+ field sites, supporting 40,000 end users.
Lawrence E. Beavers, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lawrence E. Beavers, Jr. is Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. He joined ARTI in 1993 as part of the leadership team, where he currently provides management and leadership for a staff of professionals who are responsible for corporate finance, human resources, facilities, and contracts.
Mr. Beavers received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from American University in Washington in 1977. In 1980, he earned his Master's degree in Financial Management from George Washington University, also in the District of Columbia.
Prior to joining ARTI, Mr. Beavers worked as a Financial Analyst with General Research Corporation and with DeLeuw, Cather and Company. He joined Presearch, Inc. in 1980 and worked as Controller until 1985 before moving to Automated Business Systems to oversee their controller operations.
Mr. Beavers was sought after by developing Washington, DC companies to fill key positions in corporate financial operations. From 1987 to 1992, he was employed by RJO Enterprises, Inc. in Lanham, Maryland as Deputy Controller, and with Digicon Corporation, Bethesda, Maryland, as Director of Finance.
